PROGRAMS
The Roadtrip Nation Experience curriculum was created to empower students to define their own roads in life; to make school actually matter by relating what they study to their real-world experiences; and open doors to different pathways and possibilities.
THE GOALS OF THE ROADTRIP NATION EXPERIENCE ARE:

-
Inspire and excite students about what they are
studying in school.

-
Connect students' educational experiences to their
real-world experiences.

-
Expose students to pathways that are relevant to their
individual hopes and dreams.

Online Community
-
Every student receives a workbook to connect their theory-based online content to their real-world experiences. The culmination of their work is to build their team's Roadtrip Profile.
-
Our video-rich online content combines theoretical instruction with our vast video Interview Archive so that students can interact with the content in a meaningful way.
-
To share their insights, students create Roadtrip Profiles. As a key to developing 21st century skills students engage in digital storytelling through blogs, photos, and video.
-
Students can watch videos, read blogs, and share content from Roadtrip Profiles submitted by their peers and learn from others' experiences.
INTERVIEW ARCHIVE
Students can engage in hundreds of video interviews with Leaders from diverse backgrounds, each telling their inspiring story of how they defined their road in life. Interviews range from Ira Glass, host and producer of National Public Radio's This American Life; Howard Schultz, the chairman of Starbucks Coffee; Wanda Sykes, comedian; to Gwendolyn Zepeda, writer and blogger; and Billy King, former president and general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Archive can also be accessed by Interest and Theme allowing the students to watch the content that matters most to them.

METHODOLOGY
The Roadtrip Nation Experience centers on the innovative combination of the theoretical online course content and the experiential learning exercises developed by Roadtrip Nation Education. The 12 interactive online lessons and companion Student Journal encourage introspection, critical thought, and real-world skills to set the stage for the final Roadtrip Project. All coursework is designed to give students unprecedented exposure to pathways that are relevant to their individual hopes and dreams.
-

Section I, Exposure, gives students access to Leaders' stories from the Roadtrip Nation Interview Archive. Leader stories are broken into core education themes, which we call Axles. The Axles offer an organized method to expose students to different life paths.
-

Section II, Self-Construction, guides students through a process of introspection and reflection. Students explore the Roadtrip Nation Interview Archive, based on their own interests and the themes that are relevant to their own individual ambitions.
-

The Roadtrip Project gives a framework for students to build their own local Roadtrips. Students plan and conduct interviews with Leaders in their communities who share their interests and passions. Students then work with film, photography, and creative writing to share their Projects in the Student Community.
Impact & EVALUATION REPORT
To provide a framework to what they've learned, students build their own local Roadtrips by planning and conducting interviews with Leaders in their communities who share their interests and passions.
